It was in the late 1970’s that Eva and her partners, the Kahan family, set out to realize their dream of a charming home to a wonderful group of seniors, including a number of Holocaust survivors. Mrs. Godel visualized a retirement community centered on “living the good life” in a setting that truly preserves the Jewish traditions. This community, known as The Beverly Hills Carmel, is comprised of two stylish buildings across the street from one another on Burton Way, as it enters Beverly Hills.
Today, Mrs. Godel is as stylish, vibrant and determined as she was when she arrived in California over 50 years ago! She does not shy away from challenges and continues to make conscious decisions to deal with the tragedies in her life in a way that allows her to continue to find happiness in each and every day.
Mrs. Godel is also still an active partner at The Beverly Hills Carmel. She can be found on-site several days a week, taking personal responsibility for the level of service and care provided there. Under her watchful eye, The Beverly Hills Carmel has become one of the premier retirement communities in the area, possibly because it boasts several unique features:
• A family atmosphere that includes freshly prepared meals with fresh produce and meats ordered weekly.
• Our menu, still supervised by Mrs. Godel includes many of her very own traditional family recipes.
• Offering a continuum of care, we are blocks away from The Rehabilitation Centre of Beverly Hills and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
